Whether a couple’s love of the outdoors has to do with biking or bird watching, a tree-inspired cake is a natural choice in the Northwest. Taking inspiration from the romantic flourishes of the historic Seattle building where the bride and groom met, Bonnie Lyons at New Renaissance Cakes created a chocolate cake filled with Grand Marnier mousse and covered with pure, locally made buttercream and rolled fondant. Krissie Bowman and Kara Cuellar at The Last Bite used a bride’s lovely tiered gown as the inspiration for this evocative fondant-covered creation.
