Local event planner Natalie Weinmeister of Ginger Bee Events and Planning understands the non-traditional nature of this city’s couples and strives to showcase their personalities with unique celebrations—whether that means a glamour-meets-traditional day, a backyard garden party, or an ultramodern big day. What she’s inspired by lately? Using our metropolitan backdrop as a foundation for dreamy, urban scenes.
To fully realize this creative concept, Weinmeister teamed up with Sahara Coleman Photography and a slew of other local pros for a styled shoot at Sole Repair on Capitol Hill. It’s city meets the woods for this urban dreamt up wedding.

Ginger Bee Events & Planning: “Sahara Coleman Photography never fails to capture the beautiful moments. She has an eye for movement, detail, and color and it really shows in this entire shoot. It is obvious from her work that she delivers an incredible set to every single one of her couples.”
“For this shoot Rosie Powell from Songbird Paperie experimented with vellum paper goods all around,” says Weinmeister. “Nobody receives vellum invitations in the mail, and that is why our pretend Seattle couple chose her as a vendor. Lz Atkinson and Ali Cranford from Moon Bloom Floral did an amazing job styling the invitation shot with fruit, florals, and funky veggies that help get the couple’s personality across.”
Erin Register of Emerald City Beauty created a fashion-forward, bold look that stands out on a city-loving bride. Everling Jewelry provided the jewelry for the shoot.
Moon Bloom Floral created a wild hanging piece above the table, plus a table runner made of greens and exotic fruits.
The bouquet is especially unique for its use fruits, veggies, and flowers in bold hues.
“One of the quintessential Seattle features of this shoot was the setup at the bar,” says Weinmeister. “This was a collaboration by Feed Co. Catering who assembled the gorgeous tray of herbs and fruits, and Moon Bloom Floral who created a quirky and fun arrangement with herbs and berries. Songbird Paperie’s signs let the wedding guests know what’s up. The concept is one you see at quite a few of the creative and swanky bars around Seattle. Pick your spirit, pick your herb or fruit, and let the bartender do the rest!”
This dress by Cicada Bridal is actually two pieces: a simple cocktail-style frock with a separate skirt over the top.
“Moon Bloom Floral made this incredibly funky boutonniere attached to this sexy suit and shirt by Trillium. The plaid is a little nod to our hipster crowd on Capitol Hill.”
Choice Linens stepped in, providing table cloths and bright napkins. Weinmeister used soaps Seattle Sundries as guest gifts to round out the modern place setting that showcased Songbird Paperie’s menus and wooden chairs by Seattle Rustic Furniture.
“This shoot had to have a jumpsuit!” says Weinmeister. “This Rebecca Minkoff jumpsuit was simple, sophisticated, and unique—exactly what we needed. To add a romantic touch, the veil is hand-made by Lisa of Serephine Bridal.”
