NAMES Leslie Schober and Dillon Nicely LIVE IN New Jersey OCCUPATIONS She’s a freelance designer; he’s a graphic web designer for a church HOW THEY MET Leslie, who grew up in Issaquah, was living in New York and Dillon in Los Angeles when a friend introduced them via Instagram, which led to texting, social media banter, FaceTime dates, and an eventual cross-country move for her FIRST REAL DATE They played tourist in NYC, visiting everywhere from Central Park to the American Museum of Natural History where they lay under an indoor star dome WEDDING-DAY-WEATHER weather 70 degrees and clear WEDDING TIME 6 NUMBER OF GUESTS 180 THEIR APPROACH TO WEDDING PLANNING With the couple on the East Coast and only six weeks to coordinate, it was all hands on deck FIRST VENDOR HIRED Event designers WEDDING THEME Minimal and modern, with lots of eucalyptus THEME INSPIRATION The Pacific Northwest COLORS Green and white NONTRADITIONAL ELEMENTS There was no bridal party and guests were asked to come as they were, casual and ready to enjoy the evening FLOWERS Wild and romantic garden and spray roses, clematis, dahlias, porcelain berries, and various foliage with centerpiece runners of snowberries, ferns, and three kinds of eucalyptus FAVORS FOR GUESTS Linen bags containing tin mugs, mulling spices, cinnamon sticks, a chunk of fresh caramel, and an apple WEDDING CAKE A three-tiered vanilla naked cake plus four other cutting cakes in pumpkin, coconut, dark chocolate, and salted peanut butter chocolate flavors ADVICE TO OTHER COUPLES Take time to be in the moment during the wedding because it seems like it’s over in seconds HONEYMOON Santa Barbara and Cancún

 

Leslie wanted the wedding to be elegant but still approachable. We used clean lines and Lucite mixed with wood tables, raw linen, and rustic elements to create that juxtaposition of style.
