Three Things You Can’t Miss at Get Hitched Give Hope 2014: #1

Kicking off the countdown to Seattle's most charitable wedding party.

More all-out party than wedding show, Get Hitched Give Hope’s annual bash is one of those not-to-be-missed, feelgood events for engaged couples and general lovers of love alike.

Sure, you’ll meet some of the city’s best wedding vendors and get some serious planning done, but the best part is doing all that with a cocktail in your hand in the name of a good cause.

The first thing you won’t want to miss at GHGH 2014: the ambiance. This year’s bash, dubbed the Black and White Ball, is one of the first events of the season to really roll out in your evening-gown/tux-and-tails best. Expect high elegance in a monochromatic palette with flower-draped crystal chandeliers from Flora Nova Design, chaise lounges, a ballroom full of all-white bouquets from Botanique, and an intricate hand-cut paper backdrop by local artist Celeste Cooning.

Adding a masquerade element to the whole shebang: Guests who buy a swag bag with their ticket will receive a mask to don at the ball.

And while the theme seems very buttoned up, the atmosphere is anything but stuffy. This is a celebration of celebrations, after all, so bring your dancing shoes—and your pocketbooks. Proceeds from the event’s auctions (more on that next week) benefit the Dream Foundation’s Young Survival Coalition.

Purchase tickets now for the Thursday, October 23 event at the Four Seasons Hotel, and stay tuned as we bring you more and more reasons to attend in the coming weeks.
