Jonathan knows how much I love the opera, and my favorite aria is “Una Furtiva Lagrima” from L’ Elisir d’Amore by Donizetti. He arranged to have Seattle-based tenor Vinson Cole come to our house during a dinner Jonathan was making for me and a group of our dear friends. Cole started singing as he walked up our steps; his voice shook a crystal wine glass case and caused a teething baby to stop crying. After Cole was finished, Jonathan got down on his knee and asked me to marry him.
